Planning permission has been granted for a new ‘public garden’ on Arranmore Island.
The local co-op was given the go ahead for the development of the foreshore area at Leabgarrow.
According to planning documents, the site was gifted to the community by a fellow islander to be developed as a ‘robust amenity and lasting attraction.’
A brief story of the island is to be told using twelve information boards along a pathway. There will also be a number of seated areas.
