A Donegal man is taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Errigal seven times in one day today, to raise money for the Palestinian people.
Miceal Boyle is taking on the incredible challenge to help those affected by the devastation in Gaza, following months of Israeli attacks on civilian areas.
The UN Security Council has recently called for a ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid into the region, as Israeli forces have been blockading the free-flowing entry of aid into Gaza for some time.
Israeli officials have also accused of carrying out a genocide in Palestine by international experts.
In the wake of the destruction and devastation, Micael decided to do his own bit to help the Palestinian cause.
“Like most people I was horrified at the numbers of children in particular who are being killed daily,” Micael posted on his fundraising page.
“Just as heartbreaking are the children left behind with no surviving families, starving and cold. The destruction of the hospitals has also led to unimaginable suffering and on top of all this, they are now faced with a forced famine.”
“I felt that I had to try and do something to help in any small way that I can, so I have decided to try and raise funds and awareness for Palestine by climbing Errigal 7 times on Easter Saturday.”
“Any funds I raise I will send directly to Action Aid Ireland and the Palestinian Red Crescent, who are providing absolutely essential humanitarian aid on the ground in Gaza, So any donation would be very much appreciated to try and help the people of Gaza during what has to be one of the darkest periods in modern history.”
