Donegal County Council is carrying out an online survey in respect of the Local Authority Affordable Housing Scheme.
This scheme aims to help people on moderate incomes to buy new homes at an initially reduced price. New homes under this scheme are located in areas with the greatest housing need and where affordability is a problem.
Donegal is not yet included in the national Local Authority Affordable Housing Scheme. The purpose of this survey is to gather data on the demand for the scheme in County Donegal and to determine the potential numbers eligible under the terms of the scheme.
Depending on the outcome of the survey, the Council may seek approval from the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage for Donegal to be included in the scheme. If approval is obtained, a separate formal application process will be established and advertised.
The Council encourages anybody who is interested in the scheme to complete the survey. The Council is holding an information day at the following venues on Thursday, 28 March from 10am to 4:00pm:
Three Rivers Centre, Lifford, F93 Y622
