Jim McGuinness will be without veteran forward Patrick McBrearty for Sunday’s National Football League Division 2 Final at Croke Park.
The Kilcar man will not be fit to face Armagh in the decider at GAA Headquarters.
Donegal’s captain underwent a scan in Dublin yesterday and the new was not good.
And there could be even worse news in that McGuinness is still awaiting news on the availability of Ryan McHugh.
Both picked up their injuries in the last league game against Meath last weekend.
There is some hope for McHugh and his condition will be assessed at training tonight.
“Paddy was in Dublin for a scan today so we’ll have to see how that is,” McGuinness said at the launch of the Ulster SF championship in Belfast.
“Hopefully Ryan won’t be too bad. See how he is when the medical team assess him. Paddy definitely won’t be involved. We’ll have to wait and see on Ryan.”
