Gardaí from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit were kept busy this weekend with a spate of drug driving arrests.
Over this weekend, they arrested a total of six different drivers for suspected drug driving offences at various checkpoints and traffic stops as they carry out their policing duties.
Gardaí say that the most prevalent drug detected in the drivers’ systems was cocaine.
In a statement, they again reminded the public to be sensible and never drink or use drugs before driving.
“We urge all drivers not to risk their life and the lives of others by driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
“One foolish decision made could have tragic and irreversible consequences.”
