The three North West 10k charities are busy organising fundraising events in the build-up to the big event itself on May Bank Holiday Monday in Letterkenny.
The three charities this year are the Kilmacrennan, Termon, Gartan, Churchill and Trentagh Community First Responders, Cara House Family Resource Centre and the Letterkenny Community Childcare Centre.
This Saturday, March 23, a Spinathon will take place in the Letterkenny Shopping Centre from 10am to 4pm. There will also be a bucket collection at the Millbridge, Kilmacrennan on Monday 1st of April from 10am to 4pm.
The fundraisers continue on Thursday, April 4th at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny where there will be a Fashion Show from 7.30 p.m to 10 p.m. On Sunday, April 7th a Coffee Morning will take place from 12 noon to 4 pm in the An Craoibhin Termon. Arena 7 will host a Quiz Night from 9-11pm on Thursday 11th of April. At the Old Dunnes Stores on Saturday 20th April there will be ticket selling from 9am to 5pm. On Saturday 27th of April there will be a Night at the Races in the Swilly Inn Letterkenny from 8-10pm. A Ladies Night will take place on Friday 17th of May in the Letterkenny Community Childcare Centre from 7.30-10pm.
People are now being urged to get registered, get training and get the word out to support the Northwest 10k charities of 2024. Online entries are now being taken for May’s event by going to https://www.njuko.net/nw_10k_2024 where runners and walkers will find all the information required. Sponsorship cards are available from committee members and the benefitting charities.
