Both the Donegal senior footballers and hurlers will be in action this Saturday.
Mickey McCann’s hurlers have already achieved their first goal of this year, a top three finish in Division 2B of the National League to ensure their place in the new-look Division Two next year. That finish also qualified them for a league semi-final spot against Tyrone, with home advantage on the strength of finishing second in the table.
That game takes place on Saturday in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny, with a 1pm throw-in. The teams played out a draw in their league meeting at Healy Park a few weeks ago. The game has to be decided on the day and the winners will meet Derry in the final.
Later on Saturday, the senior footballers host Meath in MacCumhaill Park in their final National League fixture. Jim McGuinness’s men have of course already secured promotion back to Division One and a place in the League Final against Armagh on Easter Sunday in Croke Park. However, they will be keen to round off their league campaign with another victory.
Also on what will be a busy Saturday, Barry Ward’s minor team will be hoping to make it three wins from three in the Ulster Minor League when they host Down in Fr.Tierney Park, Ballyshannon.
There’s a 12noon start for that one and, at the GAA Centre in Convoy, Donegal Under 17 Hurlers host Louth in the Ulster Development League.
