More jobs could be on the way for south west Donegal after planners gave one its largest employers permission to expand its operations.
Errigal Bay Ltd has been given the green light for a massive new 2,682 Sq m (28,800 sq ft) extension to its factory in Meenaneary, Carrick.
The proposed single storey industrial building will be used for the production of plant based products.
The company employs over 200 people and its products are exported across the world.
Back in 2020, Errigal Bay signed a €4m deal with Lidl Ireland which sees the company’s products on Lidl shelves in seven European countries.
The company was originally started in 1962 through the vision of local pioneering priest, Fr James McDyer, as a food processing co-op.
