Fahan Presbyterian Church welcomed Rev. Dr. Martin McNeely as their new Minister during a special installation service yesterday.
Rev. McNeely comes to Fahan with a wealth of experience, having previously served as Minister of Ballykeel Presbyterian Church. In addition to his new role at Fahan, he will also be involved in establishing a new church plant in Buncrana.
He holds degrees from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, Union Theological College, Belfast, and Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando.
The installation service was conducted by Moderator Rev. Gordy McCracken, with Rev. Paul Linkens serving as Clerk and Rev. Philip Poots as Vacancy Convener.
Local Councillor Jack Murray expressed his delight at welcoming Rev. McNeely to the community. “Myself and Terry Crossan were delighted to accept the invitation of Fahan Presbyterian Church to witness the installing of Rev Marty McFeely as their new Minister. Having spoken to Marty during the week, I advised that he’s a very lucky man to be stationed in the most beautiful part of Ireland, and that he, and his family, will find a very warm welcome here. Both Terry and I look forward to working with Marty throughout his time in Fahan.”
Rev. McNeely is married to Julie, and they have two teenage children, Joshua and Martha. He enjoys various sports activities, including surfing, rugby, and football.
This exciting new chapter for Fahan Presbyterian Church marks the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Martin McNeely.
