A status yellow snow-ice alert has been issued for Donegal this Friday morning following overnight snow.
Snowfall is particularly impacting roads on higher ground.
“Falls of sleet and snow may lead to temporary accumulations,” said Met Eireann.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care for icy stretches on untreated surfaces and poor visibility.
The weather warning is valid from 5am until 8am this morning.

The weather outlook for today is more cold conditions, with a mix of rain, sleet and snow at first, spreading southwards through the morning and early afternoon.
Met Eireann reports: “Some hail and isolated thunderstorms are possible too. Brighter, drier weather will follow in the afternoon. Highs of 3 to 7 degrees. It will become breezy and blustery, as a fresh to strong and gusty north to northeast wind develops.”
