Glenties has been confirmed as the second Donegal location to be added to the government’s ‘Town Centre First’ initiative.
It joins Milford in the second phase of the programme which encourages investment in towns across the country by tackling vacancy and dereliction.
Glenteis is one of 26 new towns added today, with each to receive €30,000 euro to fund a redevelopment plan. The scheme is intended to boost business and tourism, create community parks and walkways, and protect historical landmarks.
Launched in 2022, Town Centre First is described as driving one of the biggest ever programmes of investments in rural Ireland.
