Donegal Sinn Féin last night selected three candidates to stand in Buncrana’s electoral area in the local elections.
Both sitting councillors Jack Murray and Terry Crossan will stand again and they will be joined by newcomer Niamh McGuinness from Bridgend.
The 20-year-old political newcomer is currently studying politics and international relations at Queen’s University in Belfast.
All three were ratified for the five seater at a meeting of the party at the 19th Hole Bar in Bridgend last night.
Sinn Fein will be hoping to their tally following the departure of outgoing independent councillor Nicholas Crossan who announced his retirement.
