Gardaí are investigating two thefts that occurred in Letterkenny in the early morning hours of yesterday morning.

The first incident took place at approximately 00:05am (Monday 26th February) at the rear of the Letterkenny Retail Park stores.

A blue Ford Transit van, with a partial registration number of ‘JLZ’, entered the area. The van’s occupants proceeded to steal a quantity of food trays.

The van was then spotted approximately 15 minutes later in a car park on Pearse Road. At this location, the occupants stole a 16ft ‘Brian James’ C4 car transporter before fleeing the area.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Retail Parks, Pearse Road, or the general Letterkenny area between 11:30 pm on Sunday, February 25th and 1:00 am on Monday, February 26th and who may have dashcam footage to make it available to investigators.

“If anybody observed this van in the area with or without the trailer we also ask them to make contact with us in Letterkenny on 074-9167100. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111,” a spokesperson said.
