A number of Donegal businesses and organisations are to feature prominently on RTE’s Nationwide tonight as it marks the 10th anniversary of the Wild Atlantic Way (WAW).
The WAW is a huge success story, with communities up and down the western seaboard reaping the rewards.
It started out as an idea to help attract more visitors to the West of Ireland but has gone on to become one of the most successful branding initiatives ever undertaken in this country. Ten years on from the launch, Nationwide discovers how the Wild Atlantic Way is the envy of national tourism boards throughout the world.
Among the Donegal interests tonight will be the Gay Byrne Walking Trails in Dungloe and The Rosses. In recent years many new businesses have opened and flourished because of The Wild Atlantic Way. Niall Martin has been to visit some of these new businesses in Donegal.
