The cast and crew of TG4’s popular drama series Ros na Rún wrapped filming of season 28 with a party in Galway last week.
Among the guests were Donegal actors Pól Penrose, who plays Colm and Colm Mac Giolla Easbuic, who plays Mánus.
While the 82 episodes of season 28 are done and dusted, the series will continue to be broadcast weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays on TG4 until June. The weekly omnibus will continue at 7.30pm on Sunday evening.
And Ros na Rún’s finale on 13th June is expected to leave viewers fearing for the safety of some of their best loved characters!
Actors, crew and the production team of Ireland’s only rural based TV drama series enjoyed a fun wrap party with dancing into the early hours at Queen Street, Galway City.
For the remainder of the season, loyal Ros na Rún fans will see Laoise played by Connemara based actor Seosaimhín Uí Shuilleabháin grapple with her love for Michael played by Josie Ó Cualáin who’s taking his cancer diagnosis very hard.
Niall will continue to be under pressure at Radio Pobail Ros na Rún but can Niall, played by Donegal actor Danny McCafferty, hold his ground as an investigative reporter ahead of the feisty Caitriona Ní Loideáin who’s played by the familiar actor Máire Éilís Ní Fhlatharta? While endeavouring to send shock waves amongst his radio listeners he’s also creating a village volcano which has the potential to implode for all in Ros na Rún if he doesn’t stop upsetting the community with his interviews. Can Niall hold his position in Raidio Pobail and amongst the community of Ros na Rún, not to mention with his beloved and fiery wife, Bobbi Lee. It all remains to be seen.
Before the season ends Ros na Rún’s Tadhg will hit another brick wall as Frances’s death is once again brought to the fore of the village.
