It has been confirmed that Donegal’s Amber Barrett has been recalled to the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of their International friendlies against Italy and Wales.
Barrett achieved legendary status when she scored the wonder goal against Scotland to send Ireland to the World Cup. However, she failed to be selected when Eileen Gleeson took over as Interim manager.
Gleeson has since been appointed permanent manager, and the Milford woman has been included for the upcoming friendlies
St Johnston’s Tyler Toland has also made the cut, although there is no place for Erin McLaughlin.
The friendlies will serve as part of the preparation for the upcoming UEFA EURO 2025 Qualifiers, which kick off in April following the draw on March 5.
