Culdaff Development Association is encouraging the community to play an active role in managing the village’s environment.
Ideas are being invited from residents at an upcoming workshop, in collaboration with Culdaff Tidy Towns group, at the Wee Hall on Wednesday, February 21st from 6:00 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute their ideas to the Community Circular Economy Action Plan, an initiative funded by Community Foundation Ireland. This plan seeks to raise awareness of environmental issues within Culdaff and foster a more sustainable community.
“We need community involvement to make positive changes,” said Carlene Lyttle, who will facilitate the workshop for the Culdaff Development Association. “This workshop is about sharing ideas and building on some of the community projects like the community polytunnel, herb garden, village clean ups, free Wee Library, and Beach Toy Library.”
The event will include sessions presenting ideas around key themes of energy, water, waste, biodiversity, and transport. We will be encouraging participants to share their ideas for enhancing the village’s environmental initiatives. From supporting vegetable growers, to improving walking paths to preserving natural habitats for wildlife, all ideas are welcome and valued.
“We’re excited to hear from residents about what matters most to them when it comes to our village’s environment,” said a Philomena O’Brien from Culdaff Tidy Towns. “Working together, we can transform ideas into projects that benefit our entire community.”
Denise Charlton, Chief Executive, Community Foundation Ireland added: “Climate action starts in the community. We are delighted to partner with Culdaff in the delivery of a local Circular Economy Action Plan which will engage and energise people of all ages. This localised visionary approach is the key to ensuring we achieve a sustainable future and a healthy, clean environment for future generations in Culdaff, our country and our planet.”
The Culdaff and Our Environment Workshop promises to be an engaging evening, with lively discussions and collaborative problem-solving. Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives on how to make Culdaff an even better place to live.
“Do you have an idea that could make a difference? Join us on Wednesday, February 21st, at 6:00 PM, and let your voice be heard – Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of our village.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the solution. Mark your calendars for February 21st and come ready to make a difference.
