Planning applications have been lodged for two separate glamping sites in Donegal.
The proposed outdoor holiday sites in Carrick and in Ballyshannon seek to expand Donegal’s tourist appeal through unique accommodations.
The first proposal by Hugh John and Mary Patton seeks to install five glamping pods in Ballymacaward, Ballyshannon. The development also includes a covered barbecue area for social gatherings and a dedicated kids’ toy jeep track. Waste management is ensured through the installation of a septic tank with a secondary and tertiary reed bed system.
The second proposed development, situated in Carrick Lower, Glencolumbkille, seeks to install five glamping pods, with a reception building, designated car parking area and a proprietary sewerage treatment system. The listed applicant is Hugh Doherty.
Both planning applicants are currently at the pre-validation stage with Donegal County Council.
