Donegal students Cassie Lambe (Loreto Letterkenny) and Rowan Buchanan (Abbey Vocational School) have been elected as the Donegal Regional Officers for the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union, the national representative body for second-level students in Ireland.
The duo were elected to the ISSU’s Regional Officer Body by their fellow students in October of last year during an annual meeting of the Donegal Regional Council of Schools which took place at Atlantic Technological University (ATU).
They began their term on the 1st of January and will continue in their new roles until the end of the year.
Speaking at the commencement of their term Cassie Lambe said “I am really excited to work with Rowan for my second term of representing, uplifting and defending student voice here in Donegal and we are here to make a change for our students.”
Adding on to that, 5th year student Rowan Buchanan said “Cassie and I are dedicated to making sure the voices of Donegal students are heard loud and clear. Cassie’s enthusiasm is contagious, and I am eager to collaborate with her this year.”
The team has wasted no time in getting down to business and making sure that the students of Donegal have their voices heard on matters concerning them.
Both Cassie and Rowan thank the students of Donegal for electing them as ISSU representatives for 2024. They intend to use the ISSU’s motto of Representing, Uplifting and Defending Student voice as a guiding principle throughout their term.
