A small Donegal National School has once again been crowned the robotic champions of the north west!
Scoil an tSratha Mhóir (Stramore), Glendowan, near Churchill, was named VEX Robotics North West Champions at the finals in ATU Donegal.
They will be off to Cork again at the end of February to take part in the All Ireland Final of VEX Robotics. Last year, the progressive school went on to compete in the World Robotics Championships in the US.
The current team (main pic) is made up of Ciara McDaid, Lily Gallagher, Harry Callaghan, Aidan Duddy, Shane McCormack and Katie Duddy along with their 5th & 6th class group as well as leaders, Maedhbh McBride and Francie Friel.
The unique competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, provides primary and secondary school students with exciting, open-ended robotics challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centred learning.
