A major rescue operation swung into force in the early hours of this morning after a fishing boat ran aground on a small island off the west Donegal coast.
Malin Head Coast Guard was alerted at around 6am after the 12-metre vessel got into difficulty near Inis Meáin Island with four people on board.
They immediately tasked the Sligo-based R118 helicopter, Arranmore Lifeboat and Bunbeg Coast Guard.
All four people on board were subsequently airlifted, unharmed, to safety at Donegal Airport.
