A Donegal woman has been crowned the queen of handball, in Holland.
Avril McNamee, from Ballybofey, won the European One Wall Dutch Open title last weekend.
She is no stranger to the sport, having won a world title in 2018, and has been coached from a young age by the legendary Paddy Murray.
Remarkably, the Dutch championship was her first competition in five years.
Also a talented musician, she is a member of the MacCumhaill’s club in the Twin Towns.
“It’s great to see Avril continuously flying the MacCumhaills flag on the international stage,” a spokesperson for the club said.
