Last Sunday saw Aileen Logue (main pic) represent the club as she travelled to Abbotstown to take part in the All Ireland Combined Event (60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and 800m).
With not a lot of preparation she competed well, finishing 11th of 25 competitors in the u14 girls accumulating 2120 points from the 5 events.
Over at the Seville half marathon Hugh Bonner clocked a strong time of 1:40:06.
On Saturday at the AAI Games Fodhla Nic Phaidin took part in the ladies Long Jump competition jumping 4.90m. This followed her competing on Thursday before at the Track and Field Live in Athlone she took part in the long jump – getting out to 5.05m. Great to see Fodhla getting back and being competitive at the senior grade against the best in Ireland.
Well done to all the athletes who competed and did very well at the Ulster District C Secondary Schools Cross Country today at Finn Valley with Tristan Green, Toni Boyle, Aoife McGonagle and Odhran Rodgers all qualifying for the Ulster Championships on Feb 7th in Mallusk.
Well done to Rosses Community School on their excellent Health and Wellbeing event this evening where the club had a table among the many great clubs and services in the local area.
