The motorsport community has paid tribute to former Donegal International Rally stalwart, Austin Frazer.
Formerly of Lough Shore Road in Enniskillen, Mr Frazer passed away yesterday.
He was well known in motorsport circles and was a former Donegal International Rally Clerk of the Course (COC).
He also enjoyed notable successes as a co-driver in the 1970s and ‘80s.
“We were saddened to hear of the passing of Austin Frazer, a spokesperson for the Donegal Rally organisers said.
“He was instrumental in putting the Donegal Rally on the map as one of the best events in Europe. As COC, he set standards that we still aspire to. Then, winning alongside Billy Coleman and Bertie Fisher in 1977. RIP Austin.”
Mr Frazer is survived by his wife Doreen and son Nigel (Gail).
