There is a risk of frost in many areas of Donegal tonight as temperatures drop to freezing.
Donegal County Council has announced plans to grit the majority of inland routes in the county tomorrow morning.
Met Eireann is forecasting a mix of rain, sleet and hail in northern counties tonight.
“Some thundery downpours are also possible with potential for spot flooding and wave overtopping near the northwest coast. Fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds, reaching gale at times near the coast, will moderate by morning. Turning cold as the rain clears with lows of 0 to 4 degrees. A touch of frost is possible in sheltered areas,” the forecast said.
The following routes will be gritted from 6AM on Fri. 26/01:
- 01: National Primary North
- 02: National Primary Central
- 09: Cill Ulta East
- 12: Binswilly
- 13: Stranorlar North
- 14: Stranorlar East
- 15: Stranorlar West
- 17: Donegal North
- 18: Donegal South
- LT: Letterkenny Town
