Donegal County Council says it is currently working on trees that are ‘about to fall’ on the R238 at Tooban, Burnfoot.
“Due to unstable partially fallen trees, the council are carrying out short temporary ‘All Stops’ to allow the trimming of trees about to fall onto the R238 at Tooban,” a council spokesperson said.
The council’s Director of Roads and Transportation, Bryan Cannon, said earlier warned road users to exercise caution today because there will be widespread disruption as crews and other agencies attempt to clear the roads.
Donegal County Council can be contacted during normal business hours on 074 91 53900 and in the event of an out-of-hours emergency the Council’s Road Service/Housing Department can be contacted on 074 91 72288. For emergencies requiring the assistance of the Fire Service call 999 or 112.
The public are asked to keep up to date with the current weather warnings and in particular any change in the status warning for their area.
