Mevagh Men’s group – meet monthly, a social group, sharing stories and craic. Thursday 25th January, 7pm in Mevagh FRC. New members welcome. Refreshments provided.
An Introduction to Photography Using Your Smart Phone – New programme starting in Mevagh FRC on Friday 26th January @ 11am – 12:30pm, for 4 weeks. Herbalism & Nutrition Course – Kickstart the New Year with Herbalism & Nutrition classes by Kathleen Langan (Master Medical Herbalist, Nutritionist & Iridologist), this will include classes on Juicing, Fermentation (with free scoby/kefir & juice samples), with lots of tips & advice on keeping the body healthy through diet, natural remedies & herbs. Busy Bees Parent and Toddler Group – meet every Friday 10am-12pm. Play with new toys, meet other parents, have fun. Refreshments provided.
Project Co-ordinator Advertisement for Mevagh FRC – To work in partnership with the voluntary Board of Directors, staff and community leaders to follow through the aims, objectives and actions of the organisation in response to the needs of children and families. The successful candidate will have: A relevant third level qualification – Minimum level 7 (for example, Family Support Practice, Community Development or related discipline). And/or A minimum of 7 years’ experience in: family support in a community-based setting/ Working through a community development approach/ Community sector project management/ Supervising and supporting staff/ Implementing a governance framework informed by best practice. Mindfulness Based Childbirth & Parenting Programme – Antenatal Education and Mindfulness course for pregnant couples. Wednesday 7th February, 9 weeks @ 6.30pm – 9pm, Mevagh FRC, Downings. Places for 3-4 pregnant couples. Cost €50 (to cover costs of room rental). Facilitated by Sarah Brennan, local GP and Mindfulness Teacher.
