McConnell’s Butchers in Ballybofey is now recruiting for a full-time Butcher / Butcher Assistant for immediate start.
The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Donegal’s well-established butcher shops. We are looking for a butcher or butcher’s assistant to join our team.
The applicant should be ambitious, inquisitive, energetic and have a demonstrated history of working on their own initiative in a high-intensity environment.
Previous experience is not essential.
Opportunity to progress in the industry through the Apprenticeship Ireland butchery apprenticeship program for the right applicant. Delivered by MSLETB Sligo.
Daily Duties / Requirements:
- Punctual & reliable with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Maintaining the counter display
- Working alone and also as a team.
- Working on your own initiative on a daily basis.
- Stock management – ordering, managing and stock rotation.
- Preparing added value products, curing bacon, sausage & burger making.
- Commitment to operating and maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene. Including a good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Occasional heavy lifting.
- Ability to fulfil orders, including online orders
- Cleaning & sanitising
