Met Éireann has issued a moderate wind warning for Donegal for Sunday and early Monday.

It is forecasting ‘very strong and gusty’ southwest winds. Potential impacts include ‘significant coastal waves’, difficult travelling conditions as well as debris and loose objects displaced. The warning is valid from 11am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.

Meanwhile, this morning will be cold across Ulster with widespread frost and icy stretches.

Any lingering showers will quickly die out, leaving a dry day with spells of sunshine. Turning cloudier from the west later this afternoon and evening. Southwesterly winds will increase moderate to fresh through the day. Cold with highest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees.

It will be a cloudy night with outbreaks of rain spreading from the west. Drier spells will develop towards morning. After a cold start, it will turn milder overnight as temperatures rise to between 4 and 6 degrees. Turning blustery too with southerly winds increasing fresh to strong and gusty.

Tomorrow will be cloudy but mostly dry with just a few patches of light rain and drizzle. Noticeably milder with highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees. Windier too with fresh to strong southerly winds.
