The famous south Donegal surfing beach, Rossnowlagh, has been named as one of the best in Ireland for 2024.
It was placed 10th in ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’ in the Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards 2024, the full results of which will be revealed in Saturday’s Weekend magazine. It was the only Donegal beach to make the top ten.
It was praised for its: “Surfing, sandcastles, sandwiches, pizza and coffee, all there! Fantastic for water activities, walking or lazing on the golden sand.”
Curracloe, County Wexford, has been named ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’.
“The west coast has become over-hyped,” one Irish Independent reader has boldly noted.
