Donegal GAA has advertised for ‘suitably qualified applicants’ to fill the Head of Academy role vacated by Karl Lacey in controversial circumstances last year.
The part-time vacancy was published on the County Board’s social media pages this evening.
The 2012 All-Ireland winning legend quit last February, citing a ‘lack of support’. His shock resignation was followed by the mass exit of the Donegal GAA Academy coaches.
The resignations prompted an independent probe into the administration of the organisation in the county. Croke Park recommended the County Board appoint a ‘Head of Operations’ to oversee coaching, finance and governance.
According to the job advertisement, the purpose of the role is to support the delivery of a ‘vision and strategy’ for football and hurling player and coach development. Closing Date for applicants is Thursday 25th January.
