A man has been charged over the death of a woman in Sligo last May.
The man was arrested in recent days following the death of Angela Canavan, who was in her 50s.
Ms Canavan, a native of Crossmolina in Mayo but a resident of Sligo town for several years, was found at her rented home in the city centre.
Ms Canavan was found at her home in St John’s Terrace and was well-known in the area.
Gardaí in Sligo investigating the death have arrested and charged a man in relation to this investigation.
The man, aged in his 30s is due to appear before Carrick on Shannon District Court tomorrow morning Tuesday 16th January, 2024 at 10.30am.
