Two people have died in separate accidents on the nation’s roads over the weekend.
The first accident took place in County Kildare, when a man in his 40s was killed in a single vehicle crash at Halverstown at approximately 6:15pm yesterday evening. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second fatality occurred when a pedestrian was struck in a road accident on the M1 early this morning.
Gardaí say the accident happened near Lusk at approximately 4am.
They’ve appealed for witnesses to both collisions to come forward.
Both fatalities now also bring the number who have died on Irish roads this year so far to 10.
