An all-women’s choir from Donegal has won a huge competition across the Atlantic.
The Danu Young Women’s Choir, based in Letterkenny, was competing in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Midwinter Convention this week.
They took to the stage in the Junior Chorus Competition in the Big Apple on Friday evening.
With a sparkling performance, the Letterkenny women were given a rating of “superior” by the judges – making them the Plateau AAA Champions!
The Danu Young Women’s Choir was formed two years ago by New York native and choral director Douglas Carnes.
A total of 40 young women, aging from 13 years old and up, are members of the choir.
