A number of people were taken to hospital following a fire on Main Street Buncrana overnight.
The fire broke out at a local premises shortly after 1am.
All occupants of the building were evacuated safely. However, some people were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Gardaí are this morning conducting technical examinations of the scene. The results will determine the course of any other investigations.
“Preliminary indications are that the fire started and was confined within one room within the building,” a garda spokesperson said.
