A new weather alert has been issued for Donegal tonight as temperatures dip again to lows of -3C.
The status yellow alert takes effect from 9pm Monday until 10am Tuesday morning.
Road users are once again warned to expect icy conditions.
The Ulster forecast said: “Tonight will be very cold and mainly dry with a widespread sharp frost and icy patches. Some patches of mist or fog also.
“Lowest temperatures of -3 to +1 degrees with light easterly breezes.”
The first cold snap of 2024 is expected to last until this weekend, with a cold weather advisory in place until Friday night.
While it will be cold, it will be mainly dry with sunny spells as the high pressure will prevent any significant rainfall.
