A Falcarragh-based undertaking service has issued an appeal after an incident of vandalism outside a wake house.
During a wake in the area last week, flares were removed from roadside signs. The lights are essential for illuminating wake signs during the darker evenings.
Sweeney Funeral Directors and Embalmers have called on those involved in the theft to return the lights immediately.
“Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened! I would ask those involved to please return these lights as a matter of urgency and respect!!,” stated the undertakers on Facebook.
The vandalism has been branded by members of the community as a “disgraceful” act.
The relevant authorities have been notified.
