Woman rescued off Malin Head after fall

A woman has been rescued off Malin Head after falling and suffering a leg injury this afternoon.

The Donegal Mountain Rescue team were alerted to the incident by the National Ambulance Service aeromedical desk to the incident at around 1.37pm.

The DMRT scrambled to the scene and located the casualty quickly.

The woman had fallen and sustained a lower leg injury.

The leg was wrapped and stabilised and the casualty was stretchered off the hill to the waiting ambulance and taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the DMRT said “We wish her a speedy recovery.”

The team was stood down at 4.54pm.
