The Crossroads and Killygordon Wednesday Club for Older People had a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas party last week.
Over 40 members enjoyed a great meal in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey. This was followed by entertaining music from Joe Carlin which kept the dance floor full all evening.
The club will reopen on Wednesday, January 17th, and new members are very welcome.
The club meets weekly at the CAKE Centre and has become a very popular meeting place for the older people of the parish.
Events include bingo, card playing, dominoes, drafts, music, art painting ,craic and plenty of tea, coffee and scones. The club also has a very successful Kurling team. Kurling is proving very popular as it is a great way of keeping fit, without being too physically challenging.
The Wednesday Club continues every week at the Oaktree Centre, from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm
The organisers say more people are welcome to call in and avail of the facilities there as well as taking part in various day trips throughout the year. For information, contact the CAKE office on 07491 49557 between 9:30 am and 1 pm, Monday to Friday.
