The old Lifford town clock has been restored and is back home, just in ‘time’ for Christmas!
The repair and restoration of this beautiful timepiece was undertaken by local woman, Dolores O’Kelly (below). Dolores is well known for her dedication and hard work for many local causes.
She had taken a special interest in this project and was delighted with the outcome.
“This is once again a lovely landmark for our gateway town,” she explained.

Proud Lifford woman, Dolores O’Kelly, who was behind the restoration of the beautiful old town clock.
Dolores spoke highly of others involved in the restoration works, in particular Philip Stokes Horologist in Cork, engineer John Waters and Damian McGlinchey and Robert Johnston for carrying out the necessary electrical works. She also paid tribute to Councillor Gerry Crawford for his support.
Dolores concluded by saying that seeing the clock back and in perfect working order makes it all worthwhile. Well done Dolores!
