Donegal PPN held a very successful Winter Wellness event on Tuesday with over 20 agencies sharing their services.
A number of speakers gave insightful talks about wellness and what services to seek for help dealing with personal issues.
This event was held to promote awareness of the variety of agencies that are based in Donegal to assist people with varying issues, from mental health to domestic violence to other family matters. There were 24 stakeholders and support groups with information stands.
Bill Vaughan Mental Health Ireland was MC and the Speakers were Tommy Ronaghan, HSE Asist/Safetalk, Sue Landsbury, DCM Learning, Keane Ryan, HSE, Garry Glennon, LYFS, Sharon Ferguson & Barry Breslin, ATU, Craig Jennings, Wellness Café’s, and Mairead, Pieta House.
Those who participated were Cara House FRC, Donegal Volunteer Services, LYFS, Finn Valley Health Forum, Alone, DLDC, An Garda Siochana, Finn Valley Guide ICA, Age Action, Pieta House, Donegal Rape Crisis Centre, ATU, IWA, Donegal Library, Donegal Youth Service, Living Well Programme, Wellness Cafes, CDP and Healthy Age Friendly Home.
A spokesperson said: “All agreed that the information and support in the room was amazing. Connecting is so important and networking is invaluable. There was a great turnout and this will hopefully become an annual event.”
