A charity tractor run will take place next week in aid of the Barney Gibbons Rehabilitation Fund.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 17th, starting in Letterkenny and ending in Ramelton with a night of music, craic and a bumper raffle with some amazing prizes.
Popular Barney, from Woodlands, went through an amputation back in January and is currently waiting on another major operation. His family greatly appreciates all the efforts made to help him, to date, on his road to recovery and is encouraging as many people as possible to join the tractor run. The event is being organised by two of Barney’s great friends, Robert Browne and Annamarie Brogan (North West Truck Fest).
The run will kick-off from McGettigan Travel Dromore, Letterkenny – with registration at 12pm and the drive will start at 2pm (€20 per tractor). The route will head towards the Polestar roundabout, through Ballyraine and Mountain Top. From there, it will go towards Moyhill and into Milford before finishing at the Lennon Lodge Ramelton with refreshments.
The day will be followed by a night of music, raffles, an auction and spot prizes including a €250 LK voucher (sponsored kindly by McGettigan Travel), an overnight stay and afternoon tea in the Shandon Hotel, a tool kit sponsored by cowan tractors and many more great prizes. Music will be provided by Johnny Haughey, Mark McLean, Paul McCahill and guest artists Anne Biddy and Jennifer Matthewson.
