It has been confirmed that 29 Inishowen families on the Social Housing list will receive keys to their new homes in early 2024.
Following a query from Donegal Daily, local developer GDC (Irl) Ltd said its multi-million euro Cluain Darach estate in Carndonagh is on track and the first phase is near completion. Earlier this year, we revealed the 59-unit estate was acquired by an approved housing body.
“Everything is on track and at a very advanced stage, hopefully 29 families will receive keys to new A-rated houses in early 2024,” a GDC spokesperson said today.
“These houses have been purchased by an approved housing body to meet the local Social Housing need. To date, 29 have been completely finished and the lucky families will move in shortly. Construction of the remaining 29 houses are scheduled for completion before the end of next year and they’re also earmarked for social housing. That’s 58 new houses for Carn in 2024.”
The spokesperson added the company has a number of other social housing projects planned for Letterkenny and Inishowen for next year.
