The creative talents of Castlefinn boy Charles Gallagher know no bounds.
Just a few weeks after wowing the nation with his poetry recital on the Late Late Toy Show, six-year-old Charles is entering the New Year as an applauded artist.
Charles, who attends St. Mary’s NS, won second prize in the Texaco Children’s Art Competition under 6 category.
His artwork entitled ‘Moo Moo Rua’ has been chosen to illustrate the 2024 Texaco Children’s Art Competition Calendar just published.
The farmyard picture will appear during the month of May and will be seen in thousands of homes throughout Ireland during the coming year.
Winning second prize in this year’s 69th competition, Charles (Dominic)’s artwork was described by Final Adjudicator, Professor Gary Granville as ‘art that combines the inanimate with the living, through a warm and successful juxtaposition of a tractor with a cow’.
Charles’ little baby brother Little Neal GallagherAlso had great success in the Texaco Children’s Art Competition. Neal was just one-years-old when he painted a stunning picture, titled ‘ ‘Sunshine and Rainbows’, which came third in the under 6 category.
