Met Éireann has issued a nationwide fog warning for this evening ahead of a chilly winter weekend.
The national forecaster has warned of poor visibility on the roads, with dense and freezing fog in many areas expected from 5pm this Saturday evening.
That warning is also running in conjunction with a low temperature and ice warning that’s been in effect since Friday evening.
Both weather warnings are currently set to expire at midday on Sunday.
The forecast for Donegal this weekend is frosty, icy and foggy, with some frost and ice patches expected to last throughout today, with a chance of sunny spells or scattered showers also.
Temperatures during the day on Saturday are between 1 degree and 4 degrees celsius – but are expected to dip overnight to between -3 and +1.
