A public meeting on the future of Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) will take place tomorrow night.
Organised by The Letterkenny Hospital Campaign Group, it will be held in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, at 8pm.
The objectives of the event, according to the organisers, is to allow the community, patients and the staff of the hospital to have a forum to collectively express their experiences of using LUH.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to make recommendations to improve the system for other patients.
“For (Health) Minister Donnelly to genuinely seek a comprehensive review of our hospital would be impossible without also including feedback from patients’ experiences and that of their families,” said election hopeful and chair of the group, Mary T Sweeney.
“The stories and experiences we have heard so far, from patients and their families, are based on very real experiences that occurred while patients attended Letterkenny Hospital and Health service facilities. We warmly invite our doctors and nurses, union reps, advocacy groups for patients, and you, to come along and support our campaign to achieve improved services and support for our hospital staff and public. We simply want a hospital that we can all have confidence in and want to work in’’.
You can send your concerns, or stories, letterkennyhospitalcampaign@gmail.com so the group can deliver them to the government appointed Performance Management and Improvement Unit (PMIU) Review group and to Minister Donnelly himself.
If you wish to speak on the night please ring Donna on 086 1042175 to have your name added to the list of speakers.
