Kind-hearted Kerrykeel couple Michael and Mary Whoriskey are set to spread Christmas joy once again with their annual charity lights display.
The couple has been transforming their Gortcally garden into a winter wonderland since 2006, raising over €100,000 for charities, and this year’s display promises to be as enchanting as ever.
The lights will be officially switched on this Saturday, 2nd December. From 6pm to 11pm each night, the Whoriskeys’ home will shine bright with hundreds of Santas and snowmen, creating a magical atmosphere for all to visit.
The Whoriskeys have chosen two charities as beneficiaries for 2023 – St. Bernadette’s Special School in Letterkenny and the Donegal branch of Critical – Emergency Medical Response.
Six-year-old Ollie, Mary and Michael’s grandson, has been appointed Chief Lights Supervisor for the project. He has never been busier making sure every light is in perfect working order for the big switch-on.

The Whoriskey’s lights display has become a beloved tradition for many, as the garden is transformed into a magical wonderland for families to create special memories, and even for romance as engagements have taken place in the sparkling setting.
