Planning permission has been sought to build an Islamic Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.
A notice has been erected at the site in Lisnennan.
The notice, which was erected yesterday (Sun), outlines the plans for the buildings.
The proposed development includes a prayer hall, coffee dock, meetings rooms, library, toilets, kitchen and teaching room.
A second building will provide a recreational activity area, toilets and storage.
The application is in the name of the Letterkenny Islamic Association CLG which is the representative of the Muslim community in Letterkenny and across County Donegal.
The association previously applied to locate the centre at High Road in the centre of the town in a planned application back in June but this plan did not transpire.
The location, which fronts onto Ard O’Donnell and High Road, was the home to the Donegal News newspaper until it vacated to a new premises in January.
The new site notice for the Lisnennan site was erected by local architects Cullinane Steele who are agents for the proposed development.
