St Johnston’s own Jessica McKean is ready to represent Donegal and Ireland this weekend at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in France.
And she needs your vote!
The 10-year-old singer will be competing against 15 other countries in what promises to be a thrilling event. The contest will be broadcast live on TG4 at 3pm on Sunday, November 26th.
Jessica’s song ‘Aisling’ was written by Niall Mooney, a renowned songwriter who has previously written songs for Niamh Kavanagh and other Junior Eurovision entries. You can hear Jessica sing ‘Aisling’ below:
At just 10 years of age, Jessica is the youngest singer to represent Ireland in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her talent was first recognised when she won a singing competition at a Féis (Gaelic arts and culture festival) at the age of 3. Since then, she has won numerous competitions, cups, and medals, and has even appeared on RTÉ’s Donncha’s Two Talented, singing Patsy Cline’s ‘I Love You Honey’.
Fans can play a part in deciding the winner of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest by voting online at WWW.JESC.TV. Voting is now open until the start of the live show on Sunday, November 26th.
The second voting window will open after the last song (number 16 in the running order) has performed during the broadcast of Junior Eurovision 2023.
The votes will be converted into points and revealed during the show.
