Donegal man Eric Roberts has taken on many exciting projects in the past few years, but nothing compares to the diabolical tasks of Squid Game: The Challenge.
The first five episodes of the gruelling gameshow have launched on Netflix today. The nail-biting series has already been hailed for its shock factor, as players are pushed to their limits in their fight for a massive cash prize.
Content creator Roberts (32) is pitted against 455 other players competing to win $4.56 million, Netflix’s largest cash prize in reality television history.
Though the reality version of Squid Game isn’t a matter of life or death, players are immersed in a tense world similar to the 2021 fiction series Squid Game.
Eric, who is known as player 215 on the show, said he is most excited to play the final game.
However, he’s terrified of heights so he’s hoping he doesn’t have to deal with that!
Eric was chosen from over 81,000 applications from people all around the world daring to be part of the show. The competition plays out across 10 episodes, filmed over 16 days in London in January.
Downings native Eric has had a whirlwind few years since the pandemic when he shot to fame for his comedy videos on TikTok. A former Special Needs Assistant, his career has since evolved to presenting, modelling and content creation while his list of followers is growing at incredible rates.
